Women's Healing Path
An 8-week psycho-educational group for self-identified women who have experienced relational trauma and/or abuse (emotional, psychological, verbal, physical, sexual and/or financial abuse) during childhood or in domestic partnerships. This group is for women who are looking for a safe and supportive environment in which to expand their knowledge around the impacts of trauma and abuse and how to manage these impacts so they can live their life more fully. This group uses both mindfulness-based and art therapy-based approaches. Each week a different topic will be explored and discussed. Topics include the impacts of trauma on the nervous system, assertiveness and boundary setting, self-regulation practices. Participants will also be given weekly homework to expand their learning outside of the group setting. The group is facilitated by two counsellors. Individuals attending the group are also eligible for individual sessions at a reduced rate during the duration of the group if anything should arise that requires more individual attention. A Mindful Way Through Depression & Anxiety
An 8-week psycho-educational group for individuals who have experience or are experiencing depression and/or anxiety and looking to manage and prevent their sometimes debilitating effects. This group uses mindful-based cognitive therapy and body-centred approaches to explore the negative thought and behaviour patterns that feed depression and anxiety. Through mindfulness-based psycho-education, practices and exercises shift how you relate to your thoughts, yourself and others while decreasing instances of depression and anxiety and major relapses. Participants will be given weekly homework to enhance their learning and help develop a lifestyle that promotes mental and emotional well-being once the group finishes. The group is facilitated by Jessica Cole. Individuals attending the group are also eligible for individual sessions at a reduced rate during the duration of the group if anything should arise that requires more individual attention. Cultivating Healthy Relationships
This is an 8-week psycho-educational group for individuals looking to improve and/or develop skills that foster healthy relationships. In this group, the relationship of focus is that of the intimate relationship. Each week a different topic will be explored and discussed. Topics include, effective interpersonal communication, self-regulation, boundary setting, and working with difficult emotions (anger, sadness, fear etc.). Although this group focuses on intimate relationships it is not intended solely for couples or those that are currently not in a relationship. This group is meant for anyone looking to improve their intimate relationship skills. Participants will be given homework after each session in order to give them opportunities to practice skills outside the group environment. The group will be facilitated by two counsellors. Individuals attending the group are also eligible for individual sessions at a reduced rate during the duration of the group if anything should arise that requires more individual attention.
