Jessica Cole
Hi there! I'm a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and owner of Aspen Winds Counselling & Adventure Therapy. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the University of Victoria, an Honours Bachelor of Arts with a Specialist in English and a Religious Studies Minor from the University of Toronto and background in Psychology.I have been working with children, youth and adults in the fields of social service, education and recreation for over 20 years and I've been practicing in the Nelson Community, offering both individual and group counselling for the past five years in local community social service agencies.
Everyone at some point in their lives encounters difficult experiences and I believe everyone can benefit from a non-partial witness to the difficulties life brings. I specialize in issues surrounding depression and anxiety as well as trauma and abuse using mindfulness and somatic-based approaches. I believe that with effort, commitment, perseverance and practice anyone can shift their responses and makes choices to heal themselves. My aim is to help you identify the patterns that no longer serve you or the issues and experiences that still impact you, develop goals and intentions around shifting and changing these patterns and through evidence-based therapeutic approaches find ways to address, shift and change them so that you have a deeper level of trust in your ability to weather life's storms and enjoy your life more fully.
